Building new is often cheaper and quicker than restoring an older property – but not so this stunning cottage in Trellech.
It replaced a derelict stone cottage at the end of a narrow lane. It was the lane which presented the problem. It was too narrow to get a construction lorry down.
This meant that everything needed for the project had to be small enough to be brought to site on a transit-size tipper and the structure had to be hand-made in timber before being insulated, rendered and covered in wood and natural slate.
But we did it – in less than 12 months.Contact Us
We had to get out design heads on for the refurbishment of Los Reyes Tapas and Wine Bar in Caerleon.
The challenge was to create a rustic look to transport diners to a rural Spanish eaterie.
The answer came in the form of scaffolding planks!. They gave us the right weather-beaten, sunbleached feel for our bar, tables and wine cellar. Add some grape-festooned garden gates and some wine racks from Champage and Olé we were away.
