TestimonialS & Case Studies

The Corn Exchange

I have had a business relationship with Celtic for over 10 years on various projects and I have been immensely impressed with the quality of their work, their friendliness and readiness to listen to their client's needs and, most important their competitiveness.

The first major project involving a Grade II listed building was completed on time and within budget and was recommended for an award. Their second and most public project was the renovation of the Grade II listed Corn Exchange In Crickhowell, which again was completed on time and within budget and is now a successful business catering for three individual retail units and three residential flats.

Their current project is the renovation of the Clarence Hall in Crickhowell which is progressing extremely well, the first phase of which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023

Gail & Tim Jones

Celtic built a new home office and Airbnb premises for Gail and Tim Jones of Crickhowell, featuring underfloor heating, soundproofing and a vaulted ceiling.

Gail said: “We are thrilled with the new build.  It has been finished on budget, and the standard of the finishes is high. Tudor and his team helped us with design suggestions along the way.  And the customers like it; we had three bookings in the first seven days on Airbnb.”

The building had challenges for Celtic – surface water runoff from a nearby field meant we had to put in land drains and a soak-away, and raised footings, but the result is fit for anything the Welsh weather can throw at it.

The Gate Steakhouse, Llanfrechfa

Celtic completed the remodelling of The Gate steakhouse in Llanfrechfa within the space of a week. The brief was to create a “Vegas-Style” steakhouse – in a hurry.

Celtic brought in a team of interior designers, and craftsmen and provided full fixtures, fittings and equipment including everything from a dry-ageing display fridge for the steaks, new kitchen, bar and cellar to tables, chairs, cutlery and crockery.

Gate owner, Gareth Lee said “We showed Tudor pictures of what we wanted, pictures we had taken from restaurants in Vegas, and he delivered. It was important for us to open quickly. We gave him the ideas, and he bettered them”.
